Protect yourself against Internet fraud!

The vast majority of listings are posted by honest people and trust. So you can do excellent business. Despite this, it is important to follow a few common sense rules following to prevent any attempt to scam.

Our advices

  • Do receive a copy or original copy of CNIC.
  •  In case of no CNIC, take someone else’s CNIC or License copy.
  • Do receive any important verification document to be on the safe side.
  • Call CPLC and get details of the person/business before renting out.
  • Try to take their latest pictures with their consent.
  • For your safety, get an agreement signed and/or stamped.
  • Do not share original ownership documents with the party.
  • Keep copies of all correspondence (emails, letter, whatsapp chats etc).
  • Doing business with the people you can meet in person.
  • Never send money or products abroad.

 

Recognize attempted scam

The majority of scams have one or more of these characteristics:

 

  • The person is abroad or traveling abroad.
  • The person refuses to meet you in person.
  • Payment is made through Western Union, Money Gram, cheque etc.
  • The messages are in broken language (English or French or ...).
  • The texts seem to be copied and pasted.
